# Language and readability corrections — v0.5.98

Prepared 1 October 2026 for Christopher Knorr. This is an editorial correction
of the supplied v0.5.97 package, following the approved language audit. It does
not certify that readers understand the changes or that the site is live.

## What a visitor will see

The technical-records page is now “Version history and tool decisions”. It
explains the records, groups the twelve downloads, and keeps each record's
original date and version. The Audit method page explains the review before
its detailed component history. Sources, access options, work summaries,
requester information, and reviewer notes use more descriptive headings and
sentences that identify the practical next step.

## Errors corrected

Three download labels previously named v0.5.90 but opened records for v0.5.80,
v0.5.79 and v0.5.73. The labels now match the original files. Old v0.5.81
preparation notes and the September 25 correction note are identified as
historical. Current package summaries derive their version from release.json;
they do not claim live deployment. The change-history page also had an
upper-case link to a lower-case newsletter record; that link is corrected.

## Changes applied

All 56 entries in the approved copy deck are addressed. Related grouping,
source-order, metadata, referring-link and search changes follow the audit's
ten findings. A few replacements retain explicit requirements omitted by a
shorter draft: the Audit still checks the claim type, and wider use of the
child/family tool still requires a qualified human legal-sufficiency attestation,
not merely that someone has looked at it.

The source tables keep the original codes and dates. The visible instructions
state what to confirm; the code is available in the detailed record and does
not become a new claim that a source is current. Unresolved source conflicts
remain explicit. No external law, contact, program detail or deadline has been
rechecked in this language pass.

An expanded reviewer note contained a long filename that overflowed at phone
width in both the predecessor and initial edited copy. It can now wrap without
changing the filename or the linked record. Shared stylesheets are unchanged.

## Limits preserved

Prepared is not deployed. A request draft is not sent, accepted, or queued.
The Audit is still the Institute's recorded working method, with external
validation not established; this edit does not choose a new service operating
packet. Audit intake remains closed. Education and child/family permission
limits, privacy restrictions, and unfinished tests have not been lifted.

All approved artwork, the automatic-cloud settings, existing source files,
formal method records and downloadable report templates are preserved. The
private operator kit is not included in this public package.

## Evidence and work still needed

The local file, link, search and rendering checks are recorded in
`site_qa_v0_5_98.json`. The edit-by-edit record is
`language-edits-v0.5.98.json`. Successful package and rendering checks do not
measure comprehension. An unfamiliar reader should try the tasks in
`reader-check-v0.5.98.md`; misunderstandings should be recorded rather than
assumed resolved by this release.
